BIOGRAPHY

Milanka Brooks is an actress and producer. Originally from England, she spent one year in Australia acting in theatre and film before returning to London to study at the prestigious Drama Centre in 2009. She has appeared in several Feature Films, including the French comedy King Guillaume directed by Pierre-François Martin-Laval, and most recently Epsion(s) directed by Nicholas Saada. She has also performed in several Theatre productions including an open-air tour of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the hit comedy Love Labour’s Won at the Edinburgh Fringe. Since graduating drama school Milanka has appeared in the multi-award winning British BBC sitcom My Family. She has also been a part of sketch comedy duo Stephens & Brooks, performing brand new material and compering the monthly comedy night at their residency at 'Upstairs at the Ritzy' in Brixton. Milanka recently played the Russian part of Sacha for Jon Plowman's new BBC sitcom KEEP SMILING, and she is now producing a selection of theatre productions at The Soho Theatre Studio, The Southwark Playhouse, and other well-known venues in London. Milanka comes from a creative family background. Her Father, the late Harry Brooks Junior, was an actor and writer for many years. His remarkable theatrical career and creative philosophy continue to be an inspiration to Milanka and she hopes to carry on developing much of his un-finished writing. As well as acting, Milanka is also a writer and producer. In addition to the theatre productions she is working on for 2011 she is currently developing several feature films, and is also in negotiations with funding partners regarding feature film projects that are due to start production later this year.
